It’s been a year

It’s been a funny year. And by funny, I mean full of largely unexpected twists and turns:

  • 2025 is effectively the year I became a teacher. Granted, I had been doing it for quite a few years, but that was always a side thing, a few hours here and there. Then, this past February, a teacher friend emailed me, asking if I would be interested in teaching about AI in her luxury school (school about luxury, not school made out of gold, despite what Trump would assume). One thing led to another and I am now in charge of the school’s main master program, on top of giving a bunch of lectures there;

  • In 2024, I had delivered a few keynotes in another, tech-oriented school — also on AI: what else? — with fellow entrepreneurs who had started an AI coaching firm. A little while after my teacher friend had contacted me, one of them reached out to ask if I would be willing to coach clients on how to properly leverage (Gen) AI. I said yes, because that’s what I do. And I became an AI business coach;

  • One of my school’s co-founders also runs a media company and publishes books: he asked if I would be willing to write a chapter in his upcoming book. You guessed it, yet another AI-related topic. You guessed it too, I said yes. I believe the book is set for release in May. Also, I am about to start a column in Journal du Luxe — on AI and luxury, surprisingly. In short, stay tuned;

  • Meanwhile, the AI studio I started with a friend back in 2023 went through quite a few pivots to now settle on agentic AI projects. I will not claim that this is the most original concept, but the point is that what we are working on is pretty relevant in 2025 (and I believe 2026), as it is what clients are actually, actively looking for. Always a good starting point in business. Got a few projects in the pipe: once again, stay tuned;

  • Also meanwhile, our youngest daughter, Nora, turned 1 on December 15th (arguably the least unexpected event in this list). She started walking a month before that and is basically running at this point, communicating through pointing and grunting. We contemplated teaching her sign language, but quickly realized there was no point: she makes herself understood perfectly well as it is. She also started playing with her big sister, Sophia, which is amazing: we can actually have a few minutes of peace without having to look at Sophia’s drawing, or feeding Nora, or feeding Sophia, or having to look at Nora walk… Although it is still mostly that.

Now what? Unironically, I truly believe the best is yet to come. Many of the above projects — especially the kids one — are very much ongoing efforts and 2026 promises to be full of related next steps. And that does not even cover the new ideas I have in stock for this new year. The only really issue I see is the need for sleep. But any issue can be solved, right?

Happy new year!
